Class Activities in Addition to MyLab Activities
Have students examine the different types of anxiety disorders and write a short case scenario for
each.
Separation anxiety disorder
Generalized anxiety disorder
Watch the PBS documentary The Medicated Child (found on PBS.org>Frontline>the Medicated
Child). Have students reflect on their reaction to the documentary.
Bring in several assessments commonly used for identifying students with EBD. Have students
identify commonalities amongst the assessments.
Students will create a wraparound plan for services for a 14 year old male with oppositional
defiant disorder. Have each component explained and demonstrated.
Have students break into triads and role play a conflict resolution session utilizing the principles
identified in the text.
