Group Travel Project
Purpose: This assignment is intended to demonstrate how relatively simple, inexpensive,
and interesting world travel actually can be.
Group Objective: To provide some introductory practical and cultural information about
a specific destination related to the course.
Secular Music: Contexts, functions, instruments, examples, etc.
Internet Websites: FIVE informative websites with an explanation of each.
Recommended Resources: Books, recordings, addresses to contact, etc.
Test Questions: Minimum of TEN potential test questions submitted to instructor
Be prepared to answer questions in class.
Resources: Figure out where you’re going to get your information, i.e. books,
travel agents, the Internet, etc.
Division of Labor: Assign each member of the group specific tasks, then each
person has less to do. Play to each person’s strengths.
Synthesize: Get together after the research is done and work out how you’re

assess individual effort, and to offer some suggestions. Please feel free to consult with me
at any time during the semester for help with ideas or resources. I’ll be happy to point
you in the right direction.
Grading: (175 points total for each person)
Each individual and group will be graded according to the following criteria:
Organization: Based on preparation, utilization of resources, smoothness of
presentation, and time considerations.
(20 points: 10 points from Class average, 10 points from Instructor)
Creativity: Based on originality, use of examples, interaction with class.
(20 points: 10 points from Class average, 10 points from Instructor)
