Case:
The department of health in a moderate size city is seeking a Director of Nursing for its
nursing services. These services include clinics, school nursing, community-wide
immunization program, disaster planning, and a small home health service. You are a
nurse in one of the clinics, and you are on the search committee. The current Director of
Nursing is retiring. The current opinion is the current director has not kept up with trends
in pubic/community health. Schools of nursing in the city are reluctant to send nursing
students to the services for clinical experiences, but they have no choice. There is a
