Chapter 15: Final Preparation
Core Idea
This chapter is a set of review resources for students about to take the Network+ exam.
Focus
Your emphasis if you are covering material here is to review the first 13 chapters and review
Final Classroom Review
This is your last opportunity to give your students practice before they take the exam on their
own. By now, they should be prepared with the material, but you can give them a final review in
the class and structure the final exam in a manner similar to the Network+ exam with sample
questions on material you have covered in class. The steps I suggest (which you can use or alter
as you see fit) are as follows:
x Terminology review and quiz: You can select terms from each of the chapters and have
the students list the definitions or you can give definitions and request that students
provide the terms. Either is a more thorough review than the Network+ exam will
require, so it will showcase mastery of the required language.
x Small sample problems: You can draw a network configuration on the board (such as
any of the ones included in this guide) and pose students with a problem they will need
to solve. These should be short scenarios that are more focused on the solution than
discussion (unlike the previous exercises).
x Question and answer session: One possible review exercise is a question and answer
