socialize with your friends.
NO food, drink, smoking, or guests.
BREAKS
A “break” is an interruption in the flow of music or
spoken program content by adding the live mic or other
events, such as produced or live announcements.
FORMAT ELEMENTS
ID : Station Identification (call letters, dial position)
Liner: A short slogan which identifies the station/
format.
SPOTS: Produced or live underwriting, school spots,
PSAs, and Promos.
There are 2 kinds of breaks:
Sweepers and Stopsets.
A Sweeper break is important to maintain your brand
during a long music set, and may consist of little more
than an ID and liner.
A typical live sweeper
break would include:
ID / BS /Ad lib/FP/FS / Liner-ID
An alternative version of this more common to non-
commercial radio:
BS/ Adlib/ID/ Intro/Liner
