DETERMINING TIME REQUIREMENTS FOR A JOB ANALYSIS PROJECT
This exercise has been designed to help students to fully appreciate the time necessary to
complete a job analysis project. It is designed to highlight the major reason for the lack of an on-going job
analysis programTIME. The lack of resources, financial and personnel, also hinders a successful
program.

Although some feel that a secretary is “a secretary is a secretary” this author strongly disagrees.
A wide variety of duties can by subsumed under the title Secretary. For this reason, it is strongly
recommended that each one of the secretaries complete a job analysis questionnaire and then be
interviewed. A position description can then be written for each secretary.
