The Neural Filters
introduced
with the 2021 release of Photoshop add an
enti

e
ly
new category of filters to Photoshop for the first time in many years. These
filt
ers
are
driven by models developed using machine learning, so some Neural Filters
ar
e
capable of results that go beyond what is possible with conventional
filt
ers
.
Some Neural Filters are marked beta (not fully developed), and others are only
proposed filters (not yet working) but include a way for Adobe to collect
publ
ic
feedback for their development. As a result, this lesson is more of an
introduction
t
o
how Neural Filters generally work, and is not a full step-by-step
pr
ojec
t
.
Because so many Neural Filters are still under development, it is possible that s
ome
of the Neural Filters shown in the Classroom in a Book may change over time. You
should be prepared in case Lesson 15 needs to be adapted for changes in a

t
er
Photoshop update. If Adobe enables more Neural Filters, that is an
opportunity
