CRITICAL THINKING QUESTION
A patient has been a regular in your dental office for 3 years, getting exams and cleanings every
year. However, the patient did refuse dental radiographs throughout the period of his visits. The
patient calls your office and states he has a toothache. You inform the patient that he must come
in to let the doctor take a look. When the patient arrives you notice there are entries made in the
progress notes that this particular patient will not allow dental radiographs to be taken. How
would the dental radiographer handle this situation?
