Chapter 9
The following are activities to practice and hone you skills.
1. Break into small groups. Think of a time you did not know how to do something but had trouble
admitting that? What did you have to do to solve it? Does this problem-solving coincide with
any steps?
2. The steps use the term “God, as you understand him.” Discuss in class what this means to each
student. Remember that there is no wrong answer.
3. Each student is to attend an “open” 12-step meeting and write a short paper on this experience.
Did you see any of the 12 steps in action? Share your experiences with other members of the
class.
