Group Projects (20%–30% or greater—varies, depending on course design)
Groups will be asked to select a topic or change issue, research and summarize a set of articles
that shed light on the topic, critique what they found and discuss the managerial implications.
The instructions for this exercise are given below as well as a marking key:
• First, have your team select an organizational change issue and briefly set out why you
see it as important.
• Second, summarize/review “X significant theoretical or empirical articles or significant
journalistic pieces.” Note that one of them can be significant Video content (e.g., a
speaker, documentary, or movie) that speaks to this important issue. “X” refers to the
number of people in your team.
The deliverables come in two forms:
• One is a power point presentation that briefly summarizes and assesses the articles for
their managerial relevance. These will be posted to the website so that your more
detailed information and insights can be shared with the class.
When it comes to articles to review, stay away from the 2–3 page pieces of advice, written by
consultants attempting to sell their services. Make sure you reference sources so that class
members can access the material, if they wish to.
The expectations concerning this assignment are outlined below:
Marking Scheme for the Team Assignment
