“Elie Wiesel” Transcript
A-7713: his new name, the graffiti stamped on his skin, a concentration camp tattoo. At age fifteen, A-
7713 was sent to Auschwitz by the Nazis. He witnessed thousands of deaths, including his mother and
younger sister. After World War II, he put his pain and grief to work making sure the world did not forget
the Holocaust. Today the world knows A-7713 as Elie Wiesel. He is an eloquent, fearless, and selfless
leader who has taken the evils of Auschwitz as motivation to improve the world.
