This assignment gives students an opportunity to take part in interviews on the first day of
class and to try out basic skills they will develop and practice during the semester. With no
stress on grades, students can focus on interviewing principles and having fun while getting
acquainted with fellow students. When the three rounds of interviews are completed, focus
class discussion on questions such as the following:
1. When did interviewers and interviewees switch fundamental roles?
2. How well did the parties listen to one another?
