Visiting the Writing Center:
Making the Most of a Tutoring Session
Arrive prepared and on time. It’s important to be on time so that you can take full
advantage of the allotted session.
Tell the tutor what you want to accomplish, and share any concerns. Don’t be afraid to
share your questions, ideas, and goals.
Set the agenda. If your tutor suggests that you focus on a different aspect of the
assignment than you want, ask why. You may want to focus on your organization
