Explain how travel can expand global understanding, cultural appreciation and tolerance.
Answers will vary but should address topics such as seeing how other people live, learning about
different customers, etc.
The International Ecotourism Society defines ecotourism as responsible travel that conserves the environment.
This means that those who implement and participate in ecotourism activities should follow several principles.
Discuss the “Framework for Ecotourism” listed on page 59 and how each of these principles contributes to the
environment and/or the local infrastructure.
