Today we will examine the city of San Francisco Breast-feeding policies. As most people
know the city of San Francisco have many characteristics, cultures, industries, and
features. San Francisco is a Very liberal and democratic state with many cultures such as
the gay rights parade, to public raves, as well as breast feeding mothers protesting on the
streets on breast feeding in public. The State of San Francisco contains 805,235 people in
it.
The policy of breast-feeding in San Francisco does not go against nursing mothers to
breast feed in public. In fact “1997 – Right to breastfeed in public his law provides that a
mother may breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, except the private home
or residence of another, where the mother and child are authorized to be present.” But it is
the people of the city of San Francisco that give these poor nursing mother’s stress.
Since this policy took play’ many citizens of the city started giving hard times to these
poor nursing mothers. The mothers are being told to cover up and not to breast feed in
public around people. They are saying hurt words such as a mother in nursing her child is
sexually explicit, or just plain wrong. “and was instructed by a security guard either to stop
breast-feeding her 4-month-old son, Eliseo, or to cover herself while in public.“The guard
