Theory into Practice: My Yearlong Journey Reflection
I have learned more this year than I knew there was to know when I began my journey to
become a teacher. I transferred into the department beginning in the fall of my junior year, and
looking back on my journals from the first few days, I am amazed by how little I knew about
teaching and all that goes into it. I think from the outside, teaching can end up looking like
babysitting, especially with the stream of reforms and media coverage that paints teachers as
