Wyatt Earp Case Question
The Wyatt Earp case shows how Wyatt hunting process made him better than other
hunters. So how did he do it? Well, he intergraded what is now known as operations and supply
chain management to his hunting process. One of his process is to minimize the used of wagon
and people. He had one wagon and four sound animals with one experienced skinner. While,
other hunters used much more wagons and employ more people to do certain job which is not
productive at all. Other process is the profit sharing. Typically, hunter would divide their earning
into two components. One went to the hunter where he will be accountable for all the expense
and the other split into shares. It is not the case with Wyatt, he takes out the expense from the
profit before splitting the rest with his skinner. Wyatt productivity can be seen with his used of
shotgun that required him to be closer to the target and he repeat this process until his skinner
unable to handle. Thus, Wyatt would have less number of buffalo killed compare to other
hunters, but the way he maximizes his utilization make him become more successful than
ordinary hunters.
