WW2 Poster Essay
What I see? An unpleasant man. Today we are dealing with a propaganda poster. Every
lesson we, students, collide with various types of posters made a century ago. This one is not an
exception, nonetheless, the task given is broader than what we did – just discussed them during
the classes. So, now I am going to explain the significance of that poster and how it is related to
American culture. First off, what comes to your mind is how awful that character looks. From
the past lessons we learned that something similar happened decades ago, in WWI, when CPI
propaganda depicted Germans as monsters. The meaning there was simple – to prevent the
spread of European culture, because Americans must stay who they are till the end. Years later,
some tensions between Japan and the US started. Sure, it was not so dangerous that time.
