In my opinion, the views expressed in the reading have both positive and negative
consequences for us.
On the one hand, in terms of negative effects, I agree that if we become overly depend
on these technological applications, we will be unable to connect directly with others.
Not only that, but if we focus too much on its convenience, we will gradually tend to
do everything at home and becoming lazier. Last but not least, when we use
applications, we can become addicted to them. It will lead to people preferring to
communicate with one another through a chat app rather than hanging out and
chatting in person.
On the other hand, I believe that as science continues to grow and more and more
advanced tools appear, it will make our lives easier. For example, when we know how
to use these apps, it will help to connect people far away through which saves a lot of
time so you can do more things. One more reason is that you are more likely to find a
great online job if you can use apps to connect with others during social distancing.
That is also the reason why more and more modern things are invented and because of
that, everything will become simpler.
In conclusion, while the statement of the reading is that the use of communication
applications will have a negative effect on people’s direct interaction. But we also
have to admit the fact that the values and benefits of those applications are too great.
So in my opinion, we should use it in the most reasonable way so that we can
maximize their positives and limit their negatives.
