The well publicized Apollo 11 moon landing, which took place on July 20th, 1969, is
seen by some to be a hoax. According to various polls taken between six and twenty percent of
Americans and about twenty-eight percent of Russians accept the theory that the Apollo 11 moon
landings are indeed fictitious. Conspiracists claim that NASA along with members of other
organizations have staged the landings of the Apollo moon missions. This group is convinced
that NASA and other members purposely tricked the public into believing the landings were real
by either forging, spoiling, or manipulating with evidence. Other conspiracists, who produced the
documentary Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon, also claim that in 1969 NASA
attempted to win the Space Race against the Soviet Union by fabricating the first moon landing
