Wounded Knee
In 1890 one of the worse massacre in American history took place in South Dakota on Pine
Ridge Indian reservation, to the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe. The contributing factor was because
the Oglala Indians believe if they did a ghost dance things would go back to how they use to be
before the European arrived. In this particular period of time government were relocating Indians
tribes throughout the United States unto reservations as a means to better control them.
Unknown to government officials who were in charge of the relocating this tribe that they
occupied this land was sacred to the Oglala Lakota tribe Indians it was a place where their antsier
