Précis: Chapter 11
The three things I felt stood out in chapter eleven were the Japanese Miracle,
women in Japanese society, and postwar Australia and New Zealand. The Japanese
Miracle was an economic miracle that took place following World War II. East Asia
was the only region of the world that experienced continual substantial economic
growth and no other East Asian country enjoyed more economic success than Japan.
I find it so interesting that Japan, out of all the countries in the world, was the one to
grow economically. Japan’s economic pie grew at an annual rate of 10% from the
