Women Rights
Women have come a long way in the fight for equality. The topic of women’s
rights must first start with the discussion of the women’s right era that started in 1848. The first
women’s rights convention was held in Seneca Falls, New York in 1848. During the progressive
movement, Women launched several events, that included but was not limited to education and
employment. Through employment, women achieved unprecedented freedom. They were able to
greatly influence the consumer market nationwide. Employment gave women the power of
