American women have asked for equal rights for past decades, and they have
successfully received lots of rights that American women have never had before.
Now that women starts to have the same equality and rights as men, should they be
require to be in the military as well? I think that is the question we have to face, and I
do agree that women should be required to register for the military draft. The
reasons are simple, they asked for equal rights as men, now they should have the
same responsibilities as well. Also, even though women are physically weaker than
men, there are non-combat positions in military too. The other reason is that I
believe that it is a responsibility to every single citizen in a country to protect the
nation when the country needs them.
Women have been asking for equal rights since 1848, and they finally got the
equal rights amendment at 1972. Even though the equal rights amendment has
passed, men and women are still treated differently in some way today, and women
are asking for more equality. But should they also have the same responsibilities as
men when they asking for more equality? While women get the benefits that men
are having, I think it is fair that they also should take the responsibility to register to
Selective Service.
Although one of the reasons that people argue about why women shouldn’t join
