This chapter is a brief overview
This article mainly tells the history of the feminist movement
in India. It studies the emergence of societies inspired by
colonial ideas that emphasized the need for civilization in
Indian society and culture. The article is divided into two parts,
the first part mainly describes the situation of Indian women in
different periods to show us the gender discrimination and
violence suffered by Indian women in many aspects. The
second part mainly summarizes the continuous evolution of
Indian women‘s political status to show us that the feminist
movement in India is a long and difficult process.
