Woman who act
Jean of Arc has been one of the famous women since 15th century. When she was 16 years old
she left her parents because she was hearing voices from the God. However there were not many
of those who believed her. But Joan with her encourage and her belief in God did not give up and
followed her journey. At first she had to get permission to go in front of the king by Baudricort,
supporter of Charles VII. When she visited Charles VII to declare that she will lead the army of
the France to win she has to identify Charles VII first, because he was incognito in a crowd of
members of his court. She claimed that she is hearing voices from the God. And to prove
Charles that she is chosen she told him in a private conversation his prayer to God. Her
expression was not rejected however she had to prove more that she was chosen. Charles VII
sent her to church to examine her words. After examinations Joan was allow to join the army.

This is the first known example of Joan of Arc’s signature. She is believed to have signed
her name at the bottom after dictating this letter to the people of Riom:

“To my dear and good friends, the men of the Church, burgesses, and inhabitants of the town
of Riom .”
In the letter Joan wrote about her successful exemption of the town of Saint-Pierre-le-Moutier
with God’s help. She also mentioned that also other cities need her help however financial and
material support is not enough. She asked people to pray with her for winning against the enemy,
which surrounded also other cities as La Charité and she is asking for helping to send her
powder, saltpeter, sulfur, arrows, strong arbalests and other materials of war.
