“Winning Season”
Offensively Foul in Plain View
#Winning isn’t only about the game
Winning season is about failure and acceptance of the past, adolescent trials and tribulations
and the willingness to know when a change is needed and to make it. The main character, Bill,
is stuck in his failures in life and has let it transcend in his most significant relationships, with his
wife and daughter. A close friend gives him an opportunity of redemption by offering a girls’
basketball coach position at their local school. Considering that Bill is currently a dish washer at
a local diner and was an ex basketball star at this High School it as an ideal fit for a mentally fit
individual. Soon his friend, Terry, the principal sees that sometimes you can’t help some people
until they want to help themselves. The girls on the team are far from basketball players and
Bill quickly loses motivation to teach them how to be. He quickly realizes that in order to
motivate them he has to clean up his own act. When he finally gets his act together he still finds
a way to botch his hard work but the difference in his final mistake is that he cared about those
around him. It was a breaking point for him because he realized his mistakes not only affected
