Wind Turbines for Alternative Energy
Over the course of time we have found more than a few ways to produce
energy. We have seen solar power, dams built for the production of energy, nuclear
power, and a vast amount of others. Of these includes wind energy generated from
wind turbines. While highly effective and fairly cheap to maintain they can be loud
and annoying to anyone who might live nearby. Generally producing energy around
70 to 85 percent of the time they can be highly useful in certain areas around the
world.
The very first wind turbine was constructed in 1887 is Glasgow, Scotland.
The basis of a wind turbine is that it takes the kinetic energy from the wind and
converts it into electrical power for us to use. The power
coming from the wind turbines is already in use powering
things such as generators, homes, businesses, and even
some schools have began using wind turbines as a means
of energy. In 2013 it was found that wind energy was the
5th most used form of energy in the United States, with
about 4.13 percent of our overall energy coming from the
wind turbines strategically placed in different
geographical areas.
Wind energy can be expensive at first as would be
expected. The cost of install of a turbine can be as little as
about $50,000 to power a large home. That being said if you can find a wind farm
and take a look at the turbines installed and the amount of them installed, the cost
can reach into the multi-million dollar mark. That being said they are actually
