Wind Energy and the affects it has on Western Society
Some may say wind energy is not a solution to environmental issues in Western society.
This has led to scientists looking for years to figure out how to make wind energy the most
suitable to incorporate in to people’s everyday lives. Wind energy is created by rotating a wind
turbines that then powers a battery in a grid. Wind energy and other renewable energies have led
to many interesting changes and ideas. This includes clean renewable energy to use. Wind
energy is a viable to help Western culture with the environment issues surrounding it. Wind
energy creates clean energy in cities and towns are run, how wind energy is more efficient than
other renewable resources, helps the environment, society is becoming more comfortable with
renewable energy, there are also some disadvantages for changing to wind energy.
Wind energy helps create clean energy in cities and towns In “Energy Procdia” Javid
Mohtasham explains how scientists are working to change cities to wind energy. Javid
Mohtasham expresses the challenges scientists go through converting cities to wind energy “It is
very clear scientists are faced with a very hard job to convince public to divert their attentions
toward renewable energies” (1294). Javid wants people to understand that it is a slow process to
convert cities to wind energy and it won’t show immediate change to their life. In major cities
there main use of energy comes from non-renewable resources. In “Urban Renewable Energy on
the Upswing: A Spotlight on Renewable Energy in Cities in REN21’s ‘Renewables 2019 Global
Status Report.” Sigrid Kusch-Brandt explains how the effects renewable energy has on cities and

the changing environment around the situation. In a study conducted by GSR over a 100 cities,
70% of the electricity already comes from renewable energy, to see their use of renewable
energy including wind energy. In Urban Renewable Energy on the Upswing: A Spotlight on
Renewable Energy in Cities in REN21’s ‘Renewables 2019 Global Status Report, author
Sigird Kusch-Brandt argues The GSR 2019 identifies that cities already are among the most active players
in the adoption of renewable energies (139). This information provides context on how cities are already
starting to shift their use of energy to renewable energy. The overall impact that renewable energies are
having on the society as shown is having impact on the way people live. Wind energy has had
inventions that have made it more efficient than other renewable resources. One example of how
wind energy is becoming more efficient is in Thongchart Kerdphol, et al, “Robust Virtual Inertia
