Leadership can be described as a process or the ability to make strategic decisions and use
communication eectively to mobilize group members toward achieving the goals of group. A successful
leader eectively manages many dialectic tensions between members or between members and group.
And I think, becoming a successful leader is not easy, that leader has to prepare, practice and perform
many times. That leader also has many suitable characters, such as the 5M model of leadership
eectiveness, understanding the cultural dimensions and the suitable situation to become leader.
I know person who is a successful leader. He is Tung, my leader. He has many suitable character of a
leader, especially 3M base on the 5M model of leadership eectiveness.
For example, ‘rst is “motivate members”. He could make us laugh when our group has stress in working
and enhance the spirit of group. When we argue about an issue, he know how to listen to every
member, how to feedback and make an appropriate solution for that issue.
Second is “manage group process”. He understands and adapts to members’ strength and weaknesses.
He helps members to develop their strength and improve the weakness. He always asks members in
group about their tasks, solve the con-icts or problems between members. For example, our
presentation has problem about content, which make members argue so much. He has thought and
have decision make our has a good presentation.
Third is “mentor members”. He always is ready and willing to mentor every people in group. When we
