Why did the United States decide to enter World War II?
September 1, 1939, Nazi Germany, also known as the Third Reich, invaded Poland along
the German-Poland border at the command of Adolf Hitler. Hitler claimed it to be a military
defensive, however Great Britain and France did not see it as such resulting in both declaring
war on Germany on September 3, 1939. This official began The Second World War, or World
War II. Although the United States displayed oblivious favoritism to the opposing forces of Nazi
Germany, they did not enter the war until over two years later. It is not until December 8, 1941
when the United States and Great Britain declare war on Japan, who was one of the axis powers
