Strategic actions taken CEO:
There has been young, energetic & united leadership team that has resulted in
visionary & courageous management which helped the firms to leverage
innovative techniques like digitalization & deregulation of telecom networks
Nokia’s main strategy was innovation which made it to introduce its first
Smartphone in 1996 & first camera phone in 2001.
They also created a third leg under the leadership of nokia’s top management
which helped in bringing new technologies. It was successful in nurturing some
of the critical projects, also correctly identifying internet of things which made
them to find opportunities in multimedia health management etc.
Nokia’s CEO Jorma Ollila was mainly worrying about the rapid growth that
resulted in loss of rapidity & entrepreneurialism. Many decisions were taken
between 2001 & 2005 in order to bring back Nokia but it ultimately resulted in
beginning of the decline
Some of these decisions would include reallocation of important leadership
roles, poorly implemented 2004 reorganization into matrix structure. All this
resulted in vital members leaving the organization which ultimately resulted in
