The article “Why NHS managers should encourage whistleblowers” by Roy Lilley
takes an interesting perspective. As discussed in class, whistleblowing is normally
perceived as harmful to businesses. It can ruin reputation and image, which is why
companies fight so hard against whisteblowers. This article, however, takes the stance
that whistleblowing can actually be helpful to some companies. In this article, the
company at hand is a hospital. The article brings up why people are discouraged to be
