Where I’m from, the sound of the church bells from the top of the mountain wakes you up every
morning. The smell of freshly roasted coffee with warm tamales fills the house
Where I’m from, Ecuador is known for its beautiful traditions and wise elders. We gather at the
central plaza to watch traditional dances and eat delicious food from street venders, as we hear
the old tales that will never die.
Where I’m from, the police are easily bribed and it’s not safe to be out past 8pm. Even though
the city looks beautiful at night, its best to view it from the balcony.
Where I’m from, my grandmother’s house stands silent with her absence. I stand there
