Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?
While reading Joyce Carol Oates short story, “Where are you going, where have you
been?” there were five main points that made the story memorable. The five main points can be
depicted as the exposition, which is the beginning of the story that gives the reader an idea about
what characters will be starring, where the story will be taking place, and lastly the overall
situation that the characters are stuck in. Followed by the moment in time when there becomes a
problem, the complication. Then came the rising action, just when the conflict shocks the reader
