Not often do we think to prepare for disastrous weather, physically or emotionally.
Unexpected weather can arise at any given time or date, uprooting both its surroundings and the
lives of those it strikes. Families suddenly lose loved ones or the “sense of ever being at ease,”
even after seeking shelter in their own homes, the assumed safest place they could be. In
memoirs written by victims to unexpected weather, each of the three writers reflects on a single
