When I look at the world today, then it becomes the world of conformity. Everyone wants
everybody to feel for something that is important to someone else. They want the world to
conform to a politically correct mentality. To someone else who has an opinion other than
what the rest of the world wants is considered heresy these days. To me, what is there to
care about with these matters?
An individual make their behavior based on what the external world around them creates
(pg. 176, Organizational Behavior). My environment is whatever suits me. The best
examples of me not having to care about certain events would be the recent strings of
violent altercations and behaviors found in American high schools. There were two
incidents that happened at Spring Valley High School in In Columbia, South Carolina. In
the same school were two teenagers, a boy and a girl, who got into altercations with the
officers on duty at the schools.
The girl got in a fight with an officer who used excessive force on the girl after she was
dragged out of her chair and handcuffed for refusal to comply with the officer. The boy
was arrested for attacking an officer who had already restrained him and provoking the
officer into throwing punches at the boy. The videos were shown in the television news
stations and went viral all over the internet. When I watched these videos in passing one
day, I thought to myself how does this matter to me? A more simple answer is why should
