Merchandise Allocation Analyst
The primary function of the Merchandising Department is to trade the Company through effective management and
planning of stocks. This will include managing intake, allocations to stores, sales, markdowns, product and promotional
activity.
The Allocation Analyst is responsible for managing the timely delivery and allocation of new and repeat stock to the North
American stores, ensuring that sales plans are achieved and stock utilization is maximized, for current and new stores.
Working closely with the Merchandiser and the Associate Merchandiser, the core areas of responsibility are as follows;
• Initial Allocation & Replenishment
• Weekly Trading
• Monthly / Seasonal Trading
• Management of Store Grading’s and Stock
• Relationship with Others
The Allocation Analyst must ensure that they deliver on their projects in a timely manner, working with tight deadlines
and delivering an outstanding service by communicating and liasioning with key areas of the business, analyzing
information and challenging decisions when necessary.
The Allocation Analyst role is the first step on a career path in Merchandising and holds an important function in any
business. Working closely with both the Merchandiser and the Associate Merchandiser a clear development path will be
implemented covering job specific skills, specialist knowledge and behavioural skills required in the delivery of effective
performance.
