I believe that mother Theresa meant that the east is very poor
and has minimal possessions. They live in poverty and they also have a
strong connection to spiritual roots. They put their beliefs before their
possessions. The west is not as spiritual, because people tend to
worship their cell phones and latest fashion trends. There are not many
people that will put religion and beliefs before their possessions. The
new god of the west is technology and it does not appear that it will
change any time soon.
From what I understand about the poem “Richard Cory” is that a
man can have all the best things, all of the power, the moistest money,
and live a seemingly perfect life, but all of that does not equal
happiness. Even when one has everything that would appear to make
one happy, there can still be demons instead ones head that bring that
person down and make him/her depressed and unhappy. So, happiness
can’t be accomplished through what is seen, but it can be
accomplished through what is felt. Even the poorest man can achieve
happiness if his mind is in bliss. The documentary on happiness seems
to show that everyone has a different opinion on what is mean to be
happy. There is so one answer, because it is an opinion. Some people
think that money can make happiness a reality, but that is a farfetched
idea when it becomes a reality. Most time money causes more
problems. Winning lottery does not promise happiness, to some it may,
but others it can lead to a dark spiral of isolation. There are not many
stories of how blissful someone’s life was after winning lottery. People
people in need. This is only my idea of happiness and I am sure it ranges greatly
from one person to the next.
