What I learned about Pacific Islands
I learned quite a few things from the zoom workshop on Pacific islands. Oceania is made up of
all of Micronesia, Fiji, and Polynesia except New Zealand. In Oceana you can find the Palau
Islands, Marshall Islands, and micronesia. Something I found interesting was that the Melanesian
islands were given its name because of the darker skins(melanin). Residents of the Melanesian
Islands also have genetic mutations that give them blonde hair. Another thing I learned is that
Malatia is the second largest island and most populous of Salamon islands and the tetepare island
