There is an old tale that runs through the comic book stores of the new west about a young
man who was bit by a radioactive spider. As the story goes he is genetically transformed
into a man with spider like qualities, a Spiderman. He is a hero to some and a villain to
others, and in the eyes of a 6 year old version of myself he was the pinnacle of everything
hero. He did what was good because he could; he didn’t inherit the heroic responsibilities
but assumed them when he saw he was able. He grew to become someone and in quoting
his late uncle Bens wise words “with great power comes great responsibility". Uncle Ben’s
words are more than just cheesy lines spout out from a comic book story but words that
ring truth. This semester we were able to dig similar nuggets of truth from various sources.
I was able to learn what a hero is, and the process of one and to see how knowledge of the
Creation, Fall and Redemption can ring true in various cultures and languages.

Throughout the course I was able to learn about the Creation, Fall and Redemption from
perspectives other than my own. The three pillars of truth that I had grown to know in my
