Global health and longevity gains and the expansion of health sectors throughout the
world are the two externals factors account for the dramatic growth of health economics as a
field. Overall improvements in well-being are related to health and longevity. It has improved
dramatically in most countries around the world, especially middle-income countries. Greater
gains are experienced by middle-incomes countries than did low and high-income countries.
Improvements in health care leads to higher income. Some other improvements include health
behaviors, environmental factors, sanitation, shifts in the occupational structure, and medical
care delivery (Sloan & Hsieh, 2012, p. 5). Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is a measure of the
size of a country’s health sector relative to its national output and can be allocated to various
activities such as housing, food, transportation, health care, education, and national defense. The
