Introduction
Buying a local bakery in the town of Sackville and developing cookies Kevin Ceretti had
a vision and needed to make changes to his bakery to ensure it would succeed. From rising costs
of production and competition Ceretti wanted to create new cookie flavors and needed help from
a marketing firm to assist him with making marketing decisions and help him grow his business.
Cost of Developing New Cookies
Since 1992, Kookie Kutter Bakery has seen increased sales. In its 25th year the bakery
had a gross sale of CA$800,000. Ceretti developed four new lines of cookies. “Ceretti was
looking to add two new flavors of cookies and considering adding pumpkin and coconut snaps
which would be developed from scratch and two new product options he considered were
oatcakes and shortbread cookies, recipes which were being passed down to him from nearby
