Research Problems
In our research we will be conducting a survey using focus groups from each
building that will include students as well as faculty. We will be surveying around 50-60
people from different buildings around campus as well as a few off campus commuters.
The survey will consist of a series of closed-ended questions. They will be over
the Wi-Fi/internet services here on the Upper Iowa Campus. We will be researching
whether people are having trouble connecting to the internet, if they have trouble
registering with MyResnet, as well as a few other problems that may occur with the
internet.
This survey will be conducted on week 5 of the term which is February 8th
through February 12th. The primary goal of this survey is to create a database to bring
to the IT department as well as the Dean in hopes to improve the internet services here
on campus. I as well as many other people I know have had issues with the internet,
especially in certain rooms here on the Upper Iowa Campus so we feel that it is an
issue that needs to be researched and addressed. The first and biggest problem that we
may run into along the way would be people not replying to our survey. If there are not
enough people that reply then we will not be able to collect enough data to have an
accurate measure of how the internet is on campus. The second problem we may have
would be people not filling out the survey accurately. It would make the data inaccurate
