Before there was Yammers, or Jive, companies had to rely on emails, and face to face meeting in order
to work together or collaborate on a project. Those methods would leave huge paper trails and would
be very time consuming. With the introduction of the internet and the advancement of technology
companies are finding more and more ways to lower the overhead margin, and be more productive.
Enterprise Social Software was born out of the Web 2.0 era when computers were not just one sided in
receiving information, but because a two-way information processing system in which we can all

organization is that it promotes collaboration, improve telecommunication, as well as increasing
productivity in the work place.
