Ways of Celebrating Easter
For Christians, Easter is the remembrance and the celebration of Jesus’s death and
resurrection. Easter is a well-known religious festivity in the Christian world; yet each country has
its own way of celebrating it. There are many religious activities, including special mass services,
and it is a time of reflection and faith.
I thought that Easter would be celebrated similarly between Christian Catholics in different
countries; nevertheless, it is celebrated differently in each country. Now that I am in the US, I see
that my country, Ecuador, celebrates much differently, including the food, activities, and worship.
The food that is eaten on Good Friday must be fish; it is part of the tradition. Meat is not
allowed. In Ecuador, due to the big influence of Catholicism in its culture, a special dish is prepared
