One way a company can become successful in cultural diversity is communication.
Communication allow everyone in the company to share ideas and information about the
company. However, projects that are assigned to teams can allow everyone to discuss their ideas
within that team. According to Alpert (2018), “People from some Asian cultures are reluctant to
give supervisor bad news-while those from other cultures mat exaggerate it” (p.1). She stated,
“Over decade, enforcement of civil rights and antidiscrimination laws has helped create an
atmosphere of tolerance for individual different” (Leonard (2018), p1). Therefore, companies
that want to expand global marketplace must hire new employees that understand cultural
diversity.
She stated, “When people that come from different background, they have different ways
of speaking, different habits and different methods of doing things. When this embraced in the
work environment, new ideas on how to improve procedures, sales processes and fulfillment
operations emerge” (Leonard, 2018, p1). Most people from the United States choose to do things
alone for as team buildings. According to Richard (2018) “Team-building issues can become
more problematic as teams are comprised of people from a mix of these cultural types. Effective
cross-cultural team-building is essential to benefiting from the potential advantages of cultural
diversity in the workplace” (p1). When working with people from different cultural it allows
that companies to see things differently from other cultures. According to Thakrar (2017), “This
breaks down barriers and builds support and encouragement for advocating and finding
opportunities for mentees. Interactions between these different groups, especially when working
towards a common goal, often lead to more openness and breaking down barriers to find
similarities” (1).
