The right to vote in Texas is a responsibility that gives us each the freedom to
make a choice on who represents our views in elected offices. However this freedom is
not freely enjoyed by all because of misconceptions that we have about what our vote
means or counts toward the race. This statement lends its self to why Texans hold rank
among one of the lowest voter turnouts in the nation, which is unacceptable seeing as
though we are the second largest state in America.
One of the biggest misconceptions that we have is that our vote doesn’t matter.
