VISION 2020- A CALL TO ACTION
“I was sad to leave school…I liked learning and seeing my friends. I was scared when I got married. No
one, not even my mother, mother, told me about sex and having children.” Faha, an Indian girl was
married at the age of 13, as the older man paid a better groom price. Not only Faha, hundreds of
Nepalese girls are living the same life, being unaware and unknown to the right towards their own
body.
Sexuality is a natural and treasurable aspect of one’s life. Sexuality along with the reproductive health
is an indispensable and fundamental part of human life. The approach towards the development and
poverty alleviation has dramatically transformed the world. International development agendas has
lead nations towards the commitment of development, justice, equality and a sustainability. The
agendas of Millennium Development Goals comprehended a range of linked issues ranging from
poverty reduction to human rights and gender equality certifying accessibility to education and
health. But, sexual and reproductive health and rights are the issues initially missing from the MDG
framework. Global health funding for sexual and reproductive rights and health has degenerated
significantly and in every region of the world, a maturing HIV epidemics increasingly affects women
