The Dynamics of Traditional Markets during the Pandemic
The poor who depend on their lives on traditional markets are not small, becoming traders in
traditional markets is an alternative job in the midst of unemployment in Indonesia (Masitoh,
2013). Traditional markets play an important role for the community in meeting their daily
needs such as food. Food supply in this market is dominated by local specialty products
produced by local farmers. This indicates that traditional markets are the main place for
domestic farmers to distribute their agricultural products to the wider community. Local
wisdom can also be found in traditional markets such as social interactions between buyers
and sellers in bargaining where the price set by this market is not a fixed price, but can
change according to the agreement between the seller and the buyer. In addition, the
existence of traditional markets is the leading option for people, especially in rural areas.
